Panduté - Realist, Abstractionist, and Creative Macro Maniac by Ausra Huntington

This exhibit of macro-photography will be in the Centre Gallery, East.

"Panduté is a Lithuanian word meaning “a little panda”. It’s the nickname I chose to represent me as a photographer and supporter of pets and wild animals after losing my beloved Panduté, a fluffy cute pandalike cat. This collection of photos is meant to introduce Panduté Photography and benefit Pandas International as part of my annual commitment to donate 5% of my income from photography to this wonderful organization that is helping to save pandas from extinction.

I consider myself a realist because I enjoy walking outdoors, absorbing all the beauty the world has to offer and feel the best when I get the great picture straight out of the camera, without having to spend hours at the computer for postprocessing. Digital photography gives more freedom, but I still tend to make each click count, just like I used to work with the film.

At the same time, when I look at things around me, I notice unexpected side of ordinary. I love to capture the reality in a creative way that makes things look almost abstract, inspires curiosity, boosts viewer’s imagination or tells a story, which may exist only in the viewer’s mind. I believe this is the type of wall art that can enrich any space both private and public.

And finally, while in a constant hunt for those surreal views, I became a close up/ macro maniac obsessed with the never-ending search of the perfect image of abstract macro reality and a point of view that makes you wonder.

If you like what you see and would like to learn more about me and see more from Panduté Photography, feel free to visit or ."
