The Dog Days of Summer - a benefit art show for FURS - This exhibit will be in the Jane Sandelin Gallery. This juried All-Media show will feature animal art of all kinds! Bring your dog for some special treats, enter into our fun dog show contest, share stories on “How I trained my human!” on our black board, get your picture taken, and hear from local pet experts like; dog trainers, water therapists, and vets. Artist Karol Hilker will be at the gallery doing a live event painting! Here is our schedule:

7:00 p.m. –Silent Auction begins. Bid on a great selection of baskets until 9 PM. All proceeds go directly to FURS.

7 p.m. - 8 p.m. –Artist Karol Hilker paints the event LIVE in the Jane Sandelin Gallery

7 p.m. - 9 p.m. – " Heal The Water" Art Activity with the RVA Peace Festival - Upstairs, All-Media Gallery

7:30 p.m. –All Media Art Show Gallery talk and awards presentation.

8 p.m. – Dog Show Contest! – guests are invited to bring their dogs either dressed to impress or to show off a trick or unique talent. Participants will walk their pet down a runway and the FURS jurors award special prizes to: "Best Look-Alike" (pet and owner), "Best Pet Trick", "Best-Dressed", and "FURS Favorite". Register when you arrive opening night. Free to register with a donation to FURS in any amount. FURS adoptable pets also walk the runway to show off their special features and potential.

9 p.m. – Silent Auction closes and winners are announced. All evening long, guests will have been bidding on items that appeal to everyone, and all monies from the silent auction go directly to FURS.

The James River - A View from Legend Brewery - This exhibit is sponsored by the James River Advisory Counsel and is in Partnership with Legend Brewing Company. This curated group of 8 local artists (Linda Hollett-Bazouzi, Anne Burnley, Katrina Tillbury, Amelia Langford, Nadya Warthen-Gibson, Clayson Brimijoin, Chris Ludke, and Brenda Bickerstaff-Stanley) will be working all summer from the deck at Legend's Brewery in Manchester to capture Richmond's mighty James River in photography, paintings and more! Enjoy a beer tasting by Legend Brewing Comapny at Art Works opening night. This exhibit will be in the All Media Gallery.

AUGUST 2016 ALL-MEDIA SHOW

Each month Art Works offers artists from all over to participate in a juried art show. Michael Pierce will jury the show. Submissions are accepted from any artist and any medium. Call for Entries is on August 19th and 20th, 2016 from 12pm - 6pm at Art Works. Artwork is on display through September 18th, 2016.
