The Resurrection of the Exquisite Corpse curated by Helene Ruiz

In this exhibit one artist began a piece of artwork and a second artist sees only a small portion of the work and must complete the second half. Visual artists, writers, musicians, and dancers have all participated in this method of artistic collaboration to create amazing works of art. This exhibit will be in the Skylight Gallery.

The Resurrection of The Exquisite Corpse will be a collaborative world-wide exhibit challenging imagination and creativity where artists worked together in collaboration regardless of language barriers, distance, gender, religious beliefs, cultural differences, etc. showcasing art works from emerging artists to established artists locally, nationally and internationally.

Mr. William Washington of NYC and his guest poets will read from their writing collaborations live at the opening reception and engaging with the audience allowing them to also participate. There will be musical collaborations, dance collaborations with Judy Lynn Edwards, Alfumega Enock and Ms. Ana Barragan King founder of The Latin Ballet of Virginia will also perform."

Barbara Skolaut Recent Works

This exhibit will be in the Centre Gallery, West. "I make art quilts and other fabric art. Some of the pieces resemble "just like life" pictures; others are abstract. Images of the next piece I want to make often pop into my head, completely formed; others I design deliberately on a particular theme or for a particular fabric. Some of the quilts contain standard quilt piecing as a background, but most are completely appliqued. I also love using beading and hand embroidery to accent the pieces".
