The Sky is the Limit by Sheila Holland

Sheila Holland has been painting landscapes for over 25 years in acrylic paint and never tires of the subject. She paints loose gestural layers of thick paint in a quick manner bringing peace and beauty in an otherwise chaotic entanglement of vines, trees and brush. A graduate of VCU, she now teaches painting in Petersburg, Chesterfield and Waverly, Virginia. The exhibit will be in the Jane Sandelin Gallery.

all the broken children learn to dance by t.k. harris

Most of t. k. harris’s sculpture is figurative, and these figures tell a story – the imagined life events of people. She has trained in lost, wax-bronze-casting and has adapted that to casting resin.  Her acrylic-paintings are influenced by Greco-Roman mythology. The canvas varies as she experiments with different fabrics and presentations.    The texture of a painting surface helps tell the entire story of the painting.  Her exhibit will be in the Centre Gallery, East.

On the Edge by Kay Franz and Geraldine Keifer

Kay Franz is a potter. Geraldine Kiefer is a mixed media artist. They share studio 160 at Art Works and once a year put together this collaborative exhibit of two and three-dimensional artwork in the Skylight Gallery.

Elders Creative Spirit

Audrey Skeen organizes this annual exhibit of artwork which features art by elders from local organizations and facilities: OSHER, Circle Center, PACE, Elder Friends and Senior Connections. The exhibit honors not only past contributions by the elders in our society but also shows current activities in which they are engaged.

Artwork varies from oil paintings, collage, mixed media to clay, jewelry and seasonal crafts.

A special tea is held at Art Works for the participants and their families the week following the show opening. The exhibit will be in the Corner Gallery.
