ART WORKS, Inc. April 28, 2006 Art Shows & Events

 

The monthly 4th Friday Art Show opened April 28th with a reception by the artists, music and dance. Children activites were provided in the Clay and Kiln Room. The evening exhibtions included these shows: .

  • The April All Media Show, juried by Mary Holland, VMFA
  • Spirit of Water by Juan Aponte. Juan is from Peru and exhibited watercolors in the upstairs gallery.
  • Expressions through Painting by John Balasa, a Richmond artist exhibit in the Centre Gallery.
  • Color Series by Crystal Neilson, an exhibit of photography in the Corner Gallery. She is a senior at VCU.
  • Student Shutter Speed Space, an exhibition in the Skylight Gallery, representing the work of 11 art education students over the course of three months as they participated in the course " Special Topics: Photographic Techniques" taught by K. B. Basseches, Ph. D. formerly a staff photographer for the Smithsonian Institution now an Assistant Professor of Art Education in the Department of Art Education, School of the Arts, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA.

Guests enjoyed dance by To The Earth and children enjoyed the art activity table.
