Artist Statement :
As a young girl I was always drawing or “coloring” with whatever I had available, but adulthood took many different turns. Parenting and the business world left little time for art but the desire to create was always there. In 2002 I was able to take early retirement and concentrate on art. After many classes with Richmond area instructors and much self-study, I began showing my work. My work is mainly realistic, oil paintings. I’m attracted by the many colors seen in old vehicles, landscapes and enjoy painting dogs on commission , giving special emphasis to their eyes. I try to keep my prices reasonable because my greatest pleasure is in having someone want one of my paintings and to be able to easily afford it. My life is so complete now because of art and a perfect day for me is to be painting in my backyard studio with the door open hearing the birds outside with the dog asleep at my feet. My work can be seen at Artworks Gallery and in various shows in the Richmond area.
