Art Works opened the art center—25,000 square feet of studio, event and gallery space in 2003. Artists who rent studio space, some to make artwork, others to display and sell their work, are a part of a great art community.

The gallery provides monthly exhibits and receptions every 4th Friday. These are free and open to the public.

The galleries are used for weddings, fundraisers, parties, meetings, seminars and classes. There’s always something happening at Art Works. It’s a great place to see and buy contemporary art. And admission is free!

Glenda Kotchish - Art Works, Inc. Owner and Executive Director

"I am a painter and ceramic artist.   But I’m also a business lady and love being part of the community, solving problems with creative solutions.  I’ve programmed computers and been an analyst as well as a banker, so all these skills I use at Art Works.   I love a party, so 4th Friday receptions at Art Works is perfect for me – a party every month… except December that is. "

Jessie Boyland - Gallery Director

Jessie is an artist, curator, and educator who loves to work with artists on special projects, creative ideas and collaborations. She holds a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Painting and Print-making. Jessie puts together the monthly All-Media Shows, and is the Art Works Web-mistress among many other things that make Art Works possible!

Louise Ricks - Gallery Assistant

Louise graduated with a BFA from Shenandoah Conservatory. Since then she has gone on to become an award winning artist, actress and playwright. Louise is a photographer, painter and you might even recognize her from Art Work's web series!
